The Question:
The above picture shows the person bicycling prepared to make a left turn from the inside lane of a four lane roadway. Is the bicyclist required to keep to the far right side of that lane?
The Answer: NO
Every person riding a bicycle on a public roadway has all the rights and duties as the driver of any other vehicle. When making such a left turn as in the above traffic scenario, the person bicycling has equal right to the entire lane.
This answer is based onĀ Idaho state codeĀ 49-714 (1) and 47-717 (b).
