A cyclist is traveling against traffic in several situations including in a bike lane.

Play along! Did you guess correctly?

ANSWER: None of them.

Riding against traffic, called “wrong-way riding” is always illegal and unsafe. This inlcudes in bike lanes. Wrong-way riding creates VERY unsafe situations for everyone and puts all users in an unpredictable situation. Being able to predict what other users will do is one of the most important behaviors we all should do to be safe and improve safety for others. Using facilities correctly is a necessary aspect of being predictable.
