The Question:
The above picture shows a bicyclist approaching a solid red light. He is turning right. Does the law allow him to slow to a reasonable speed, yield to all cross traffic and then proceed without stopping first?
The Answer: YES
A bicyclist intending to make a RIGHT TURN on a solid red light may do so without stopping if he/she slows their bicycle to a reasonable speed, yields to all cross traffic, including pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers, and then proceeds cautiously into the intersection.
This answer is based on Idaho state code 49-720 (2).
