#RoadRights Situation 21
Be alert while driving on an empty rural road.
Play along! Did you guess correctly?
ANSWER: All of the above and more.
Idaho is full of roads like this one and its easy to think you’re paying attention but at 45 mph or faster things can appear in the roadway quickly. It’s the driver’s responsibility to be prepared to slow or stop to avoid a crash, especially with other road users. We might be watching for animals but we’re not expecting to see people walking or biking along or across these roads and if we’re not scanning for EVERYTHING we might miss these people.
